Some PediaCare Cold Products Recalled

WASHINGTON, June 1 (UPI) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary recall of four PediaCare-brand children’s cold products.

Blacksmith Brands Inc. of Tarrytown, N.Y., said the products were manufactured for it by McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a Division of McNeil-PPC Inc., a Johnson & Johnson Company, at McNeil’s Fort Washington, Pa., plant.

The products — PediaCare Multi-Symptom Cold, PediaCare Long Acting Cough, PediaCare Decongestant and PediaCare Allergy and Cold — were voluntarily recalled as a precautionary step since a recent FDA inspection at the manufacturing facility found tiny particles in some non-PediaCare products made at the same McNeil plant.
