WASHINGTON, April 5 (UPI) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of some Glutino-brand raisin bread because it might contain undeclared egg products.
The FDA said the Glutino Food Group of Lawrence, Mass., initiated the voluntary nationwide recall of one lot of its raisin bread that is sold in stores’ frozen food section in clear plastic bags. The lot affected by the recall has a “Best Before” date of “08OCT10.”
The FDA said the bread poses a serious health hazard for people who are allergic or sensitive to egg products.
Consumers can return the recalled bread for a refund or contact the company for further information at 800-543-6637.
