BRATISLAVA, Slovakia, May 4 (UPI) — European Space Agency and Slovakian officials say they have signed an agreement creating the framework for a more consolidated relationship.
ESA officials said the agreement is only a starting point, and some areas for cooperation have been identified in space science, Earth observation and microgravity research.
The ESA said the Slovak Academy of Sciences is already participating in a project co-funded by the European Commission, the executive body of the European Union, and the ESA. The project is designed to reveal the critical links between the solidification processes of intermetallic alloys, the structure of such materials at micro and nano scales, and their final mechanical, chemical and physical properties.
