Pack Medical Travel Assistance on Vacation

SALEM, N.H., June 17 (UPI) — A provider of medical, security and travel assistance reminds U.S. adults planning vacations to remember to pack emergency medical assistance.

A broken leg requiring surgery can happen anywhere but when it happens during a vacation, it can pose numerous problems if there is a language barrier and a lack of information on where to seek medical treatment.


OnCallInternational.com offers memberships that provide for comprehensive medical and travel assistance services. The company says it specializes in worldwide emergency medical evacuations, which can cost up to $20,000 within the United States and as much as $100,000 internationally.

An annual membership, beginning at $225 is for those who travel frequently or spend extended periods of time more than 50 miles away from home. A single trip membership begins at $55 and is designed for individuals or families planning one trip per year, while academic memberships, starting at $45, are available for both students and faculty traveling 50 miles away from home for up to one year at a time.
