MASON, Ohio, Aug. 11 (UPI) — A U.S. bedding company representative says good bedding can help college students get better grades.
Rough, uncomfortable, ill-fitting sheets can make it harder to sleep and lack of sleep can lead to a poorer academic performance, explains Stefan Hunter, director of commerce and retail for Downlite, in Mason, Ohio.
“The choice of bedding can make a big difference in having fun and getting good grades in college,” Hunter says in a statement.
Among Hunter’s suggestions for passing Bedding 101 with flying colors:
– Get the right size. Most dorm rooms are Twin XL, but it is a good idea to check with the college housing service before buying sheets.
– Get a higher thread count. Higher quality sheets will be softer, not lose shape and last longer.
– Get natural fabrics over synthetics. Dorms often run hotter or colder than expected and a natural fabric can help the body breathe when temperatures are not comfortable.
