WASHINGTON, April 8 (UPI) — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the voluntary recall of McCormick-brand fajitas seasoning mix because of a labeling error.
The FDA said McCormick & Co. Inc. initiated the recall because the seasoning mix might contain undeclared wheat and milk, posing a health hazard for people allergic to such ingredients.
The recalled McCormick Fajitas Seasoning Mix has “BEST BY” dates of “JAN1612AH” and “JAN1612CH.” The product is sold nationwide in 1.12-ounce pouches, with the date code printed on the lower back part of the pouch.
