OTTAWA, April 8 (UPI) — The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning people with wheat and gluten allergies to avoid eating Hempola Gluten Free Hempseed Flour.
The CFIA said the manufacturer, Hempola Inc. of Barrie, Ontario, said the flour, sold in 454-gram packages, might contain undeclared wheat gluten that can cause serious or life-threatening reactions in people allergic to wheat.
All lot codes of the Hempola-brand flour are affected by the nationwide recall.
