JAKARTA, Sept. 21 (UPI) — Four earthquakes of varying intensity struck parts of Indonesia a day ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr festivities marking the end of Ramadan, meteorology data indicate.
Earthquakes ranging in magnitude from 5.1 to 6.4 struck the provinces of North Maluku, Bali, North Sulawesi and North Sumatra, Antara reported Monday.
All of the earthquakes occurred Saturday, data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency indicated.
The earthquake in North Sumatra cracked hundreds of houses in two villages, local officials said.
