Welcome to EcoWorld Funds! Our goal is to assist you in identifying and researching socially-responsible funds. Our database tracks over 130 different socially-responsible funds. Use the drop-down bars above to get started.
Particular Funds: If you have a particular fund in mind, just select that fund in the first drop-down bar and hit select.
Fund Types: You also have the option to pull up specific types of funds: balanced, equity, fixed income, money market or global.
Exclusionary/Participatory: You have the option to select only those funds that include or exclude certain types of investments. For example, a socially-responsible fund would normally consider "Alcohol" and "Tobacco" screens to be exclusionary meaning a company within those industries would automatically be excluded from the portfolio. In other words, only those companies that exclude such practices from their normal operating procedures would be eligible candidates for investment. When it comes to participatory screens such as community development, shareholder activism, women/minority/gay rights, the environment and environmentally-responsible products/services, the portfolio manager would seek out companies with a history of active participation in those areas. Most socially-responsible funds tend to institute both exclusionary as well as participatory screening measures.
Individual Social Screens: Lastly you have the option to select those social screens that most reflect your personal values.
