I want to transplant these trees and am waiting for the rain.  What I would like to know is if I should prune them before I transplant or after.  Thanks to all of you for your input.

I need to see the trees or have you describe them. Usually you plant young trees - just weeks old (16 weeks for many natives for example)

These don't need pruning.

Normally, you want to have the roots and limbs balanced. However, pruning the main shoot should be avoided as this can effect the future growth of the tree.

Pruning of fruit trees is very different from pruning of wood trees as well - different purposes.
