Hi tricky question really - from a plantation perspective it depends on what quality seeds you want to buy. Also, if you want to buy seedlings and/or genetic material rather than seeds. If on the other hand you want to estbalish what the market demand ito of pricing is - very difficult. Seeds have very limited value unless you are close to a refinery as the Free Fatty Acid build up reduces value - and then again cost of logistics for transport plays a large role in what you will get at the end of the day. I'd suggest you discuss with your nearest refinery to get an idea thereon. If you are considering producing Jatropha oil, then again there is no set price and it depends on where you can get the best deals. There arte a number of oil refineries from UK, to Singapore, Europe, Australia and US, so really depends on a) who will give you best deal taking cost fo transport into account.

Yes and No.
In Indonesia, we have the strange National Team for Biofuel who claim that the seeds price is a dismal USD 5 cent (at 10,000 IDR to USD exchange rate), so that producing jatropha biofuel is very good financially.
In reality, NO BODY has sold the seeds at that ridiculously low price. Some exchange has occured. At one stage, it is exhanged at USD 10 a kilo (yes, ten). Normally, it is now sold at USD 1.5-2 a kilo. Can it be made into oil and profitable for the producer? No.
I don't know the situation in other countries.
Cheap jatropha seeds price is a hoax.
