Hi
Im looking for people to invest in a Jatropha plantation in Central Zambia. The plantation will be roughly 1000 ha, starting small and growing as finances allow. Phase 2 of the project, to be run concurrently will be to set up an out grower scheme with the surrounding local villages of a similar size to the main farm.
The expected yield in Zambia without irrigation is 4 tonnes / ha / year, with an oil content of 35%
The average diesel price in the area is US$ 1.25 a litre, fuel availability is often a problem on the commercial farms and mines in the area, as the refinery is obsolete.
Zambia has an excellent investment climate, and is actively encouraging investment into all sectors with out many of the difficulties of many other countries in the region.
