Hi, you can also try Peter Briant peter-discovery@aushttp://www.com (for some reason when I post this it add the http:// bit into the email address, just delete that and you ahve his email address) he is doing a lot of cloning work on Jatropha in Indonesia, and I know he is looking at a Jatropha project in the US

Peter,

5 tonnes/ha/year will the most you can get, in a fertile and well irigated soil. Do your calculation on this figure. Or better still, lower than this. During the last jatropha seminar in the Netherlands (March 2007) it was agreed (yes, agreed by the participants owing to the unavailability of recorded data) that the most that jatropha can produce is that much. Any figure above that, treat it carefully.

Hope this helps.

Hi Trophaja,

Thanks for the info.

If you are talking about seeds then you are probably right with the 5 tons figure. However we are getting much more but I'm still looking for better trees if there is such a thing.

Cheers

Hello Peter...

We are located in central Florida and are just now planting 600 Jatropha seedlings... Wondering where you are located and what you are doing... Perhaps there is some way we can work together...
