California, along with a handful of nations (mostly in Europe), has led the way in embracing clean energy and clean technology. This political will has emanated from Sacramento, California’s capitol, beginning nearly forty years ago and continuing to this day.
The progressive environmental legislation set forth in Sacramento has made the city a magnet for representatives of clean energy manufacturers from around the world, but until recently there hasn’t been clean energy entrepreneurship centered in Sacramento to match its pioneering political resolve. This is changing, however.
Our friends at CleanStart.org, who are working to accelerate the development of clean energy technology ventures within the Greater Sacramento Region, have provided us a list of clean energy companies headquartered in the Sacramento area, to which we have added companies and deleted others.

RE:MGCO3 Process which uses brine concentrate from desalination plant
I have been working on carbon dioxide sequestration. A data sheet for the subject process is the result and it is available upon request. I decided that magnesium carbonate is better than potassium carbonate which lacks sufficient supply of raw material (KCl) and calcium carbonate which requires calcination of limestone which generates carbon dioxide. My process creates a product which would be used to produce thermal insulation. I have also found a way to recover by-product hydrogen chloride to chlorine.
The products of this process would benefit a town with brackish water or a coastal town with seawater because desalination would provide potable water which would be disinfected with chlorine from the process and the power plant would sequester its carbon dioxide as magnesium carbonate which would be used for thermal insulation and exothermic carbonation provides process heat.

I have discarded the MgCO3 Process because it would be too expensive and I am now in the processe of developing the Methanol from glycerine process shown below. It solves the problem of glycerine excess in the Biodiesel Fuel industry. Also, using the industry’s triglyceride feed combine with the glycerine an existing methanol plant could be converted in order to run on a new feedstock.

1.Methanol from glycerine is illustrated by US2007101640 as well by EP1698681, WO2005052097 and JP2995154647 invented by Tetsoya Koshikawa and ssigned to Revo International, Inc.
2.Both reactions are consecutive as shown in Reference 1. For sound economics, the glycerine is charged in at zero value.
3. Since the surplus glycerine from transesterification at one biodiesel plant is not enough material to produce methanol for the one plant, the surplus glycerine might be collected at one plant or the glycerine might be supplemented with another polyol such the triglyceride used for the biodiesel oil at the one plant. Also, since the process technology includes basic methanol technology, an existing methanol plant could be converted to this process.

I think a methane digester will be a very important asset to farms in this geographical area.
