NASA's Ares 1-X is Readied for Launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

NASA’s newest rocket, the Ares 1-X, stands poised for launch on Complex 39B at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida on October 26, 2009. The Ares rocket is part of NASA’s Constellation program which will continue support of the International Space Station and eventually return men to the moon. The $445 million will tests various stresses exerted on the vehicle during ascent. The launch of the Ares 1-X is scheduled for October 27 during a four hour launch period.
