PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 23 (UPI) — A Pennsylvania animal advocacy group is offering a reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever abandoned a cat covered in duct tape.
George Bengal, director of investigations for the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said the cat was found Tuesday in a Philadelphia yard with only its head sticking out of the duct tape cocoon, The Philadelphia Enquirer reported Wednesday.
“Whoever did this is very sick,” Bengal said. “I’ve never seen a cat totally wrapped like a mummy before.”
He said the cat, nicknamed Sticky, was freed from the tape and is doing well.
The PSPCA, headquartered in Philadelphia, is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of a suspect.
