GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Oct. 5 (UPI) — Police say they have no clue as to who slaughtered 30 carrier pigeons in their cage at a community center near Gothenburg, Sweden.
“Someone broke in there and broke the necks of all the doves,” Molndal police spokeswoman Jeanette Lovqvist told TT, the Swedish news agency, in a story published Monday.
The birds, which belonged to a carrier pigeon club, were found dead Sunday and were last seen alive around midday Friday, Lovquist said, adding police had no theories as to why the birds were killed or clues as to who killed them.
Three years ago, on Christmas Eve, someone entered a pigeon cage in Larjeholms, broke the necks of nearly 50 carrier pigeons and then set the cage on fire, TT reported.
